Or Gallery invites its community to join us in celebrating the 2025 Lunar New Year from 11:00am-3:00pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

This public program will be hosted alongside the 51^st Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration and Parade. Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is a cultural celebration celebrated by communities all over the world. First held in 1973 in Vancouver’s Chinatown, the Spring Festival Parade has evolved over the years to reflect the multi-cultural landscape of Chinatown.

Following the parade, Or Gallery will host the lion dance performance (採青) with a lettuce head (生財) offering to bring good fortune and blessings for the new year.

Or Gallery will be serving hot tea to community from our street-front bookstore for the duration of the Spring Festival Parade. Please come by and share a new year’s wish celebrating the year of the Wood Snake!
