Lunar New Year Celebration

2 February 2025
11:00am-3:00pm

Or Gallery invites its community to join us in celebrating the 2025 Lunar New Year from 11:00am-3:00pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

This public program will be hosted alongside the 51st Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration and Parade. Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is a cultural celebration celebrated by communities all over the world. First held in 1973 in Vancouver’s Chinatown, the Spring Festival Parade has evolved over the years to reflect the multi-cultural landscape of Chinatown.

Following the parade, Or Gallery will host the lion dance performance (採青) with a lettuce head (生財) offering to bring good fortune and blessings for the new year.

Or Gallery will be serving hot tea to community from our street-front bookstore for the duration of the Spring Festival Parade. Please come by and share a new year’s wish celebrating the year of the Wood Snake!
